This piece was painted by Traveller artist W. H. Keith around the same time that he was working on Traveller artwork. The pieces evoke a more impressionistic style that the published Traveller pieces, while that the same time portraying much of the same subject matter and in similar compositions. According to the artist, they were “generic space paintings that I did to sell at SF cons or sidewalk art fairs,” and he also commented that he “can say with confidence that [he] didn’t do any of these for a commercial market,” making this a piece of interest of the Traveller enthusiast. It allows one to acquire a piece that is in some ways recognizable, and yet at the same time unique. Measures 10 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ with frame.
